Privacy policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
Calling.Care is operated by Social Robotics Pty Ltd (ABN 15 698 556 491), trading as Calling Care (“we” or “us”). We provide Aria, an AI telephone companion for older people, along with call updates for the family members and carers they choose. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and with other privacy laws that apply where we operate.
Information we collect
- About the person Aria talks with: their name, phone number, preferred call times, and the interests and topics they would like to talk about.
- From calls: call audio, which we process so Aria can listen and respond, along with call times, durations, transcripts, conversation notes and the details Aria remembers to keep conversations personal. Conversations may include health or other sensitive information if the person chooses to talk about it.
- About family members and carers: your name, email address, phone number and relationship to the person Aria calls.
- When you contact us: the details you include in your message.
- When you visit this website: limited technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting and font providers process to deliver and secure the site. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
How we use information
- To make and receive calls, and to hold natural, personal conversations.
- To remember details between calls, so conversations can build over time.
- To share call updates with family members or carers, where the person has agreed.
- To schedule, change, pause or stop calls when asked.
- To keep the service safe, secure and working well, including reviewing calls to fix problems and improve quality.
- To contact you about the service, and to meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Consent and choice
We only call people who have agreed to receive calls from Aria. Anyone can pause or stop calls at any time by telling Aria or contacting us. Call updates are only shared with the family members or carers the person has agreed to.
Phone numbers and messages
We use phone numbers only to provide the service. We do not share phone numbers, or consent to receive calls or messages, with third parties for their marketing purposes. If we send you text messages, you can opt out at any time by replying STOP.
Who we share information with
We use trusted service providers to run Calling.Care, including providers of telephony, cloud hosting and storage, speech recognition, voice generation and AI language processing. They process information on our behalf, only as needed to provide their services. We may also disclose information where the law requires or allows it, or where it is necessary to protect someone’s life, health or safety.
Information processed overseas
Some of the services we use to run Calling.Care store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. When this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure the information is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How we protect information
We use measures such as encryption, access controls and monitoring to protect personal information, and we limit access to the people who need it to run the service.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it to provide the service, meet our legal obligations and resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete information at any time.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@calling.care. We will respond within 30 days.
Private beta
Calling.Care is in private beta, so features and data practices may change as the service develops. We will update this policy when they do, and let affected users know about significant changes.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or concern about how we handle personal information, please contact us first so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
